..:: tchncs :: Account ::..
The central account for selected tchncs.de services
Description
It's generally a good idea to have unique credentials for each service you are using. However, it's also not ideal if only basic account features are implemented in some services. The goal of having the tchncs.de account system (Zitadel) is to replace such basic implementations with something, that can – for example – do stuff like 2 Factor Authentication.Also in such cases, this system helps with moderation and will in the future also grant access to services that currently only are available on request. (in such a case one could create their account themself and only needs to be added to the service)

Notes
Creating your account
Keeping bad actors out makes things a little more cumbersome: when you create your account, your registration must first be approved by a moderator or by the system. There are currently three options:
- Manual approval requiring a reason for joining and an optional verification code for an existing online presence – if we are unsure based on your reason, the code helps us assess your established reputation online. You can also link to, for example, a blog.
- A small one-time payment – this saves everyone time while helping to fund the operation of tchncs.de.
- Invitation codes – if you know someone who has been active on tchncs.de for a long time, ask them for an invitation code (see below).
Hint: If chose manual approval but have not heard anything from us after two days, check your spam folder. If there is nothing there either, your application was probably declined. You can still use one of the other options.
Invitation codes
Long-standing users of certain services can create registration codes when they meet specific criteria (such as account age, activity, and reputation). This is currently being rolled out gradually and is already available for the services listed below.
- Matrix invitation code: Create a private, unencrypted room with
@invitebot:tchncs.deand follow the instructions. Please note that the system records whom you invite. Your reputation may be harmed by that person's misconduct.
Deletion of your account
Note, that you must first delete your account on any connected service. Deletion of your universal account does not automatically remove any connected accounts.
If you use a service that is connected to our accountsystem, you can change settings of your account here... or – if needed – create a new one.
